1970 Innocenti i5

This car was built in Italy by Innocenti who had an arrangement with BMC to build versions of various models under licence but modified for the local market.

The i5 was an update of the i4 - which was based on the UK Austin 1100 - but it had unique front styling. Interestingly, it did not feature the UK Mk2 sloping tail lamps, retaining the Mk1 variety.

A little over 5,500 of this model were produced over the several years to 1972.

This particular car was recently imported to Australia from Bergamo, Italy, and is being prepared for road registration in Queensland.

Being a European market car originally, it is left hand drive.
